Chiang Rai Elephant Half Day Tour: Hands-On, Ethical, and Fun
Explore Chiang Rai’s most touching tour—feed, walk, and bathe elephants with guidance from local Karen caretakers
The Chiang Rai Elephant Half Day Tour is designed for travelers who want something real, safe, and joyful for all ages. Whether you’re visiting with kids, grandparents, or friends, this experience brings you face-to-face with elephants in the most respectful and interactive way possible.
Start your day with a 9:00–9:30 AM hotel pick-up. In less than an hour, you’ll arrive at Karen Ruammit Village, home to a peaceful elephant camp run by local Karen families. You’ll change into traditional clothes before meeting your friendly elephant hosts.
You’ll begin by feeding the elephants and learning about their personalities. The local guides help you create herbal health supplements, which you’ll give to the elephants as part of their daily care. Then comes a short forest walk—just long enough to stretch your legs and walk beside these giants.
The highlight is, of course, the bathing session. Everyone can safely join in—kids love it, and adults are surprised by how touching it feels. After splashing and laughing, enjoy a warm Thai lunch in nature, then return to your hotel in Chiang Rai by 1:00 PM.
